Ormond to Tallahassee

We had planned on leaving Ormond on Wednesday Aug 1, but based on a forecast of rain for Florida and South Alabama for Tuesday and Wednesday, we decided to leave Tuesday afternoon thinking we might be slowed by the bad weather. As it turned out we were 40 miles from home, near St Augustine, when we found the rain. Not just any rain, but kind that slows traffic on I95 to 40 mph and has people using their flashers to assure that they are seen by approaching vehicles. We were able to make out the outline of a truck a few hundred feet ahead of us, and hoped that his speed matched our own. Fortunatley we were only a couple of miles from the next exit where we took shelter under the awning of a convenience store.

We waited an hour for the front to pass before continuing on with only light showers the rest of the day arriving safely in Tallahassee around 7 pm. No other excitement to report, which is fine with us.
