Wyoming Thursday and Friday
Thursday we rode from Sturgis to Cody Wyoming, about 420 miles. At a rest stop we met another man from Tampa traveling to Seattle bike loaded with camping gear.
The ride to Cody took us over the Bighorn Mountain range where we reached over 8,000 feet. The road was good, Debbie wanted to know when the curves would end and the wind would die down.
Friday morning we ate breakfast at a place owned by the brother of a lady we met in a bar in Rapid City. We then road along the Shoshone River, over the Buffalo Bill Cody Dam, and through a few more tunnels to Yellowstone. The first 7 miles in the park were gravel roads, where we followed a biker with his Yellow Lab in tow in a trailer behind his bike.
We stopped often along the way at overlooks and turnouts, and hiked down to get a closer look at the falls of the Yellowstone River. More mountain roads toward Mammoth, saw Geysers and Mud Volcanoes as well as plenty of Buffalo along the side of the road (sometimes in the middle of the road).
When we checked in the hotel we found we have a room with a bath (apparently this is an option here). We had dinner at the hotel and Debbie went in search of wildlife ( not nightlife ) while I rested and talked to other travelers.
